The motorcycles get most of the attention at EICMA. I always find myself looking at the gear around them too, especially the things that could make a real difference on an ordinary ride. This year, the motorcycle gadgets at EICMA 2026 include intercoms with replaceable batteries, helmets that carry their own cameras, and screens designed for navigating from the handlebars. Not every new feature is something I’d pay extra for, but a few are worth a closer look.
I keep coming back to the same question: will this make riding easier, or is it one more device to charge and keep track of? Here’s what caught my attention, along with the details I’d check before spending money on any of it in the Philippines. The show runs November 5–8, 2026, so this is a look at the announcements so far.
Which motorcycle gadget category stands out at EICMA 2026?
Helmet communication and connected rider equipment are the part of the 2026 announcements I’ve spent the most time looking into. Sena has new intercoms and smart helmets, while Midland and LS2 are developing their own communication systems. That makes them interesting to explore, without treating them as an officially ranked most-popular category.
1. Sena’s replaceable-battery intercoms: Why this is worth watching
Replaceable batteries may not be the flashiest announcement, but they’re one of the changes I like most. Sena’s 2026 announcement focuses on a simple problem: the battery can wear out before the rest of the gadget. Swapping it could make an intercom easier to keep for longer.
What I want to know now is how the system will be supported locally. How much will a replacement battery cost, where will it be available, and will that part be covered by the warranty? Those details will decide how useful the idea is for riders in the Philippines.
The intercoms Sena is showing
Sena 60XR
The glove-friendly Thumbwheel and Sound by Bose are its headline changes. The useful question is whether the extra physical control makes it easier to operate without looking away from the road.
Sena 60C
An intercom and 4K camera in the same unit. It could mean one less item attached to the helmet, although recording quality, battery life and how the controls feel still need real-world checking.
Sena SPIDER X
A low-profile Mesh-only intercom with a Thumbwheel. This new SPIDER X is distinct from the earlier SPIDER X Slim, and its compatibility with other riders’ intercoms remains important.
Sena MOVEX
A two-way device with Harman Kardon audio intended for jet and open-face helmets. Those helmets bring different speaker placement and wind-noise challenges compared with full-face helmets.
Sena lists its EICMA 2026 stand at Hall 7, Booth I32. These are showcase specifications from Sena, not performance results independently measured for this website.
Bluetooth versus Mesh: Which intercom makes more sense?
Not everyone needs an elaborate group intercom. Two people travelling together may be fine with Bluetooth. A bigger riding group could appreciate Mesh, especially when riders spread out and reconnect. Compatibility matters, though: one manufacturer’s Mesh system is not necessarily interchangeable with another’s.
Before paying for an intercom, it makes sense to check what riding companions already own, how many people normally talk, whether speakers fit inside the helmet and whether the controls can be used with gloves. Those details are more useful than buying features that rarely get touched.
2. Smart helmets: Is a built-in camera better than an add-on?
I like the idea of a camera that doesn’t have to sit on the outside of the helmet. Sena’s EICMA 2026 helmet range explores both full-face and modular designs, with integrated speakers and cameras in selected models. That doesn’t change my priorities when looking at a helmet: fit, certification and protection still come before the electronics.

Sena PHANTOM CAMERA
A full-face smart helmet with a 4K camera integrated into its chin bar and SOUND BY Harman Kardon audio. What interests me is the design choice: a camera that’s part of the helmet rather than another object fastened onto it. Its real advantages still depend on fit, certification for the buyer’s market and how the camera performs in day-to-day conditions.
Other Sena helmets introduced for the 2026 showcase

Sena PHANTOM KV
A fiberglass-and-aramid full-face helmet with 45 mm ANC speaker modules. Fit, certification and comfort still come before the electronics.
Sena SPECTER KV
A modular helmet with 60 mm active-noise-cancelling speaker modules. Its hinged chin bar and touring-oriented layout make it different from a fixed full-face design.
Sena SPECTER KV CAMERA
A modular design with its 4K camera mounted on top of the shell rather than in the chin bar, paired with 60 mm ANC speaker modules.
Sena OUTLANDER CAMERA
A dual-sport helmet with a 4K chin-bar camera. For adventure-style riding, I’d also want to pay attention to the peak, visor fit and whether either creates problems at speed.
Sena RECON
An open-face/jet-style helmet with integrated Harman Kardon audio. It is worth distinguishing it from the full-face models because its coverage and wind exposure differ.
Sena TORQUE
Another open-face variation with a short half-chin guard and integrated audio. Its unusual shape does not mean the same protective coverage as a full-face helmet.
There is an important buying distinction here: an integrated camera or expensive speaker system doesn’t automatically make a helmet the safest fit for a particular rider. Choose a certified helmet that fits correctly first. Check the certification stated on the exact model for your market, and do not assume one model’s claim applies to the whole collection.
3. Midland and LS2 Spectrum EVO: A different approach to group communication
The LS2 Spectrum EVO, developed with Midland, is another interesting option for group riders. EICMA’s official announcement lists four-rider communication, a claimed 1,200-meter maximum range, up to 20 hours of battery life, 40 mm RCF speakers, Bluetooth 5.1, voice commands and AI-assisted noise cancellation. Those figures are claimed specifications, not independent road-test results.
One claim I’d look into before choosing this unit is cross-brand pairing. It sounds convenient, especially when riders in the same group use different intercom brands, but it is worth checking the exact connection mode. Universal Bluetooth support does not necessarily mean two different Mesh networks can work together.
Midland is displaying the line at Hall 5, Stand E66, together with additional intercoms and navigation hardware.
4. Motorcycle navigation displays: Useful convenience or another distraction?

Midland Bikeplay x BMW
The 6.2-inch Bikeplay x BMW integrates with supported BMW motorcycle controls. It offers a tidy navigation interface but is not a universal display for all bikes.

Midland Bikeplay Pro
Bikeplay Pro is the broader aftermarket approach, already described before EICMA 2026. Screen visibility, weather resistance and mounting fit matter more than whether it looks impressive on a product page.
For everyday rides in the Philippines, a well-positioned phone holder may already do everything I need. A dedicated screen might help with weather and display visibility, but either option can distract if adjusted while moving. The safest time to change a route or check a message is after stopping.
5. What about phone mounts and other everyday gadgets?

Kappa KPM1
This simple holder fits 22–32 mm handlebars and smartphones 65–90 mm wide, with TPU vibration inserts and quick release. It is not a wireless charger.

Kappa KBH50
The KBH50 is a separate holder for bottles around 32–77 mm across. The more practical questions are whether it grips firmly and clears the controls and rider movement.
I’m just as interested in simple accessories that do one job properly as I am in a complicated smart display. A secure mount, easy release and decent vibration protection may matter more than a long feature list. Fit, rain exposure, clear visibility and easy access when parked are the things to inspect.
Which gadgets seem most useful for different riders?
| 2026 EICMA highlight | What it changes | What to verify before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Sena 60XR | Thumbwheel controls and Sound by Bose audio | Availability, supported group modes, helmet mounting |
| Sena 60C | 4K camera and intercom in one device | Storage, recording controls, battery use, local release |
| Sena SPIDER X | Low-profile Mesh-only intercom | Mesh compatibility with your riding group |
| Sena MOVEX | Two-way system for open-face/jet helmets | Helmet fit, microphone placement, noise in real use |
| Midland / LS2 Spectrum EVO | Four-rider communication, claimed 1,200 m range and up to 20 hours | Helmet integration, actual range conditions, local retail support |
| Midland Bikeplay x BMW | 6.2-inch connected display with BMW Wonderwheel control | BMW model compatibility; not a universal screen |
What would I check before buying in the Philippines?
- Actual Philippine stock: EICMA presentation does not guarantee a product is launched or sold locally. Check exact model codes, release dates and authorized dealer listings.
- Helmet compatibility: Confirm whether your helmet accepts the speaker units and mounting system. Integrated smart helmets are different from universal add-on intercoms.
- Group compatibility: Ask which Bluetooth or Mesh modes operate across your companions’ specific brands and models.
- Electrical and weather durability: Verify charging port, power requirements, water-resistance claims and genuine spare battery support.
- Safety and local rules: Check helmet certification for the market and traffic rules on phones and screens. Device features should not distract from riding.
- Price and warranty: Avoid simply converting an overseas price into Philippine pesos and calling it an official local SRP.
If you’re building a set of practical riding accessories rather than shopping for a technology showcase, our Motorcycle Accessories guides and Motorcycle Practical Guides also cover everyday product decisions, not only premium electronics.
What matters more than the new features
The details I keep coming back to are surprisingly ordinary: a battery I can replace, a control I can use with gloves, and a camera that doesn’t need another mount. They’re more interesting to me than a gadget simply having a longer specification sheet. Whether they make a noticeable difference on the road is something I’d still want to see demonstrated.
I’m especially interested in what happens after EICMA. Which of these products will reach the Philippines? What will the local prices be? And will there be support when a battery, bracket or other part needs replacing? Those answers are what could turn an interesting show announcement into something worth buying.
Motorcycle gadgets at EICMA 2026: Frequently asked questions
What is the most prominent motorcycle gadget category at EICMA 2026?
Helmet communication systems and connected-rider devices stand out in the manufacturer announcements examined here. That is an editorial observation, not a certified EICMA popularity ranking.
