The WorldSBK 2027 rider lineup is almost complete, and there is plenty for motorcycle racing fans to follow. Jack Miller, Brad Binder and Franco Morbidelli are making the move from MotoGP, while reigning WorldSBK champion Nicolò Bulega is going the other way. As of November 1, 2026, the championship’s official rider market lists 21 named riders for 22 grid positions. The remaining place is Team GoEleven’s second motorcycle.
I find this an interesting mix. Some teams are maintaining established combinations, while others are welcoming riders with considerable Grand Prix experience. But experience alone is not enough to tell us how 2027 will unfold. The new technical rules and the change of official tire supplier will also matter.
Who Is Confirmed for the WorldSBK 2027 Rider Lineup?
The following teams and riders are named in the official championship’s current 2027 rider-market roundup. The table records signed announcements available at the time of writing, not a final FIM entry list.
| Team | Confirmed 2027 riders |
|---|---|
| Aruba.it Racing – Ducati | Iker Lecuona; Franco Morbidelli |
| ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team | Miguel Oliveira; Brad Binder |
| Pata Maxus Yamaha | Andrea Locatelli; Jack Miller |
| GYTR GRT Yamaha WorldSBK Team | Remy Gardner; Stefano Manzi |
| Honda HRC | Jake Dixon; Somkiat Chantra |
| bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team | Alex Lowes; Axel Bassani |
| Kawasaki WorldSBK Team | Garrett Gerloff |
| Barni Spark Racing Team | Yari Montella; Xavi Vierge |
| Elf Marc VDS Racing Team | Sam Lowes |
| Superbike Advocates | Tommy Bridewell |
| Motocorsa Racing | Alberto Surra |
| Team GoEleven | Lorenzo Baldassarri; second rider TBA |
| Motoxracing WorldSBK Team | Mattia Rato; Twan Smits |
The grid snapshot comes from the WorldSBK official 2027 rider market. In that list, TBA means to be announced, not a rumored rider whose agreement has already been confirmed.
Which WorldSBK 2027 Seat Is Still Unconfirmed?
Team GoEleven has confirmed a second motorcycle, but not its second rider. The Independent Ducati operation announced on October 21, 2026, that it will expand to two bikes for the 2027 campaign. Lorenzo Baldassarri has already renewed his deal, leaving the other seat without an official name.
It is worth separating those two pieces of news. A team confirming an extra bike does not automatically confirm who will ride it. There has been speculation in the international motorsport press about possible candidates, but I would rather keep the table accurate than fill the gap with a rumor.
The official announcement still describes the new rider as unnamed: Team GoEleven confirms a second bike for 2027. This section can be updated above the historical snapshot once the team makes a formal announcement.
Which MotoGP Riders Are Joining WorldSBK in 2027?
Jack Miller, Brad Binder and Franco Morbidelli are three of the biggest confirmed arrivals from MotoGP. Each brings Grand Prix racing experience, although their new motorcycles and championship format will require adaptation.
Jack Miller: Pata Maxus Yamaha
Miller joins Andrea Locatelli at Pata Maxus Yamaha. What I want to see is how quickly he becomes comfortable with a production-based Superbike racing package, especially across WorldSBK’s two full-length races and Superpole Race format. There is no reason to assume his MotoGP results will translate directly into a particular WorldSBK finishing position.
Brad Binder: ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team
Binder joins Miguel Oliveira at BMW. Both have extensive MotoGP experience, creating a new pairing with a great deal of high-level motorcycle racing behind it. Their different riding styles, test feedback and approach to BMW’s M 1000 RR will be interesting to follow once the team starts sharing verified track information.
Franco Morbidelli: Aruba.it Racing – Ducati
Morbidelli is taking the Aruba.it Ducati position left by Bulega and will race alongside Iker Lecuona. It is one of the more striking exchanges between the MotoGP and WorldSBK paddocks this year. The challenge is not just to replace a familiar name on a team sheet. It is to build a new working relationship with the motorcycle and crew.
Why Is Nicolò Bulega Leaving WorldSBK?
Bulega moves to MotoGP for 2027 with the Pertamina Enduro VR46 Racing Team. Having won the 2026 WorldSBK title, he becomes one of the prominent names switching in the opposite direction from Miller, Binder and Morbidelli.
I have followed this story in my Nicolò Bulega feature and MotoGP 2027 rider lineup analysis. I am especially curious about how Bulega adjusts to MotoGP machinery while Morbidelli begins his Superbike career in the seat he vacates.
For anyone who usually follows MotoGP but not WorldSBK, these moves offer a useful starting point. They connect familiar riders to a championship that has its own manufacturers, race format and long-established competition.
Which Teams Are Keeping Established Riders for 2027?
Not all the 2027 announcements involve new arrivals. Alex Lowes and Axel Bassani stay together with bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team. Remy Gardner and Stefano Manzi continue with GYTR GRT Yamaha, and Honda HRC has Jake Dixon alongside Somkiat Chantra.
Elsewhere, Garrett Gerloff remains with Kawasaki, Sam Lowes with Elf Marc VDS, and Yari Montella continues with Barni alongside incoming Xavi Vierge.
Continuity may make preseason conversations easier because teams and riders have already worked together. But I would not describe it as proof of a performance advantage. Every team still has to prepare for the same new season and its technical changes.
What Changes in WorldSBK for 2027?
Michelin becomes the official tire supplier across the WorldSBK paddock in 2027, after Pirelli’s long tenure. The change covers WorldSBK, WorldSSP and the other championship categories. A new tire supplier is a significant part of preseason preparation, with teams needing to assess behavior and feel rather than assuming their 2026 setups can simply be carried forward.
For the Superbike class, the 2027 technical roadmap also introduces manufacturer-specific engine rev limits alongside fuel-flow limitations, with periodic adjustments set out by the SBK Commission. Brembo is also becoming the exclusive WorldSBK braking systems supplier.
These are championship-wide technical matters rather than predictions about who will win. The organizers’ Michelin announcement, 2027-2030 rules roadmap and Brembo announcement explain the announced changes.
When Does the WorldSBK 2027 Season Start?
The provisional 2027 calendar begins February 19–21 at Phillip Island, Australia. The official preseason test at that circuit is scheduled for February 15–16. The announced championship calendar has 12 rounds in nine countries, finishing in Shanghai, China on October 29–31.
Schedules remain provisional. See the official 2027 race calendar for the latest organizer information.

My Take: What I Will Follow Next
I enjoy seeing riders take on a new technical challenge, and this is why the 2027 grid has my attention. Miller at Yamaha, Binder with BMW and Morbidelli at Ducati each have a different story. Meanwhile, established riders are preparing for the same changing technical landscape.
I won’t pick a championship winner from the names alone. Testing, motorcycle development, the new tire package and the actual races will tell us much more.
I will keep the latest confirmed announcements at the top of this article, while preserving earlier lineup snapshots below with clear dates. That way a reader can see how the field developed without mistaking older information for the current picture.
